Privacy Policy — DbGate
Effective Date: April 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Sprinx Systems, LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the DbGate application (“DbGate”, “the App”). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. About the App
DbGate helps merchants manage store data faster with a familiar spreadsheet-like interface. You can view and edit products, variants, images, collections, and metafields in bulk from one place. The App provides quick filtering, bulk updates, export, and import capabilities.
The App also offers an optional integration with DbGate Central, our cloud-based data management platform, accessible via the “Open in DbGate Central” feature within the App.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Shopify Store Data
When you install the App, we access your Shopify store data through the Shopify API, including but not limited to:
- Products, variants, and product images
- Collections
- Metafields
- Other store catalog data necessary for the App’s functionality
We access this data solely to provide the App’s features (viewing, editing, filtering, exporting, and importing store data).
2.2 Merchant Account Information
When you install the App, Shopify provides us with basic information about your store, such as:
- Store name and domain
- Shopify access token (used to authenticate API requests on your behalf)
2.3 Usage Data
We may collect anonymized usage information to improve the App, such as:
- Feature usage patterns
- Error logs and performance data
We do not collect personal data from your customers or end users.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App — access, display, and modify your store data as directed by you.
- Enable DbGate Central integration — if you choose to use the “Open in DbGate Central” feature, your Shopify access token is used to connect your store to DbGate Central so you can manage your data from the cloud platform.
- Improve the App — analyze anonymized usage data to fix bugs and enhance features.
- Communicate with you — send important notices about the App, such as updates or security alerts.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or store data to third parties.
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- DbGate Central — if you use the “Open in DbGate Central” feature, your Shopify access token and store data are shared with the DbGate Central cloud platform, which is also operated by Sprinx Systems, LLC.
- Service providers — we may use trusted third-party service providers (e.g., hosting, infrastructure) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
5. Data Retention
We retain your store data and access tokens only for as long as the App is installed on your store and as needed to provide the service. When you uninstall the App:
- Your Shopify access token is revoked and deleted.
- Any cached or stored store data is deleted
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS)
- Secure storage of access tokens
- Access controls limiting who can access your data within our systems
While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about your store.
- Deletion — request deletion of your data by uninstalling the App or contacting us directly.
- Withdraw consent — uninstall the App at any time to revoke access to your store data.
8. Shopify’s Role
The App operates within the Shopify platform. Shopify’s own privacy policy governs how Shopify collects and uses your data. We encourage you to review Shopify’s Privacy Policy.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page or through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
